Overview
Ai Mizuno is an AR who plays with lightning.
Ai Mizuno’s Skill will target 7-8 enemy targets (and occasionally herself too), stunning them all for 3 seconds and dealing some damage to everyone hit. The notable thing here is the stun, which should be compared to Stun Grenades:
- Lands faster than Stun Grenades, due to not needing to be thrown.
- Has a way shorter cooldown (Stun Grenades are 16s vs Ai Mizuno’s 8s). This allows her to use her Skill several times in most Ranking fights.
- Doesn’t rely on enemies being clumped up together.
With all of this, it should be clear why she’s far better than regular Stun Grenades for the purposes of stunning. Now for the drawbacks:
- It can hit herself, instantly causing a link to die and stunning her for 3 seconds.
- To prevent this link-loss, you would need to manipulate RNG (kiting jank).
- She can only hit 8 targets at most, and may require RNG manipulation to hit the targets you want.
- Her Skill does less damage than the multiplier may suggest on first glance. Her Skill only hits each target exactly once, unlike Grenades effectively hitting once per enemy link or all 5 of Grape's links firing her skillshot.
Essentially, she’s a reliable way to stun spread out enemies, with the drawback that she can hit herself and delete a link. With all that said, she is not recommended for general use and niche in the context of Ranking.
All ZLS Dolls share two passive effects when using an all-ZLS echelon:
- Summon the two ZLS members not in the echelon as reinforcements behind the echelon, with stats based on the Leader
- Summon a barrier that reduces damage taken and draws fire while active, with stats based on all the members’ combined stats
The reinforcements are incredibly weak and contribute 1-2% of the total damage at best. As such, your choice of Leader hardly matters.
The barrier can withstand weaker enemies if the fights are quick enough, but is far less durable than Suomi or an actual SG. To make matters worse, it can quickly cause your backline to lose links, as it inflicts 50 points of damage to all echelon members when it breaks. The -80% damage taken also doesn’t prevent Ai Mizuno from losing an entire link when her Skill backfires, removing one of the potential upsides. This is honestly so bad that using a full ZLS Echelon is discouraged. Instead, consider whether each individual Doll adds value to your Echelon and if not, pick something else.
