AUG's slow fall from grace of is finally complete with the arrival of Angelica, who has the audacity to not only wield AUG’s weapon, but also stats, tile buffs, and most of her Skill's effects.
This provides Angelica with a solid base to apply changes to, of which most have been positive. The small improvements to this kit add up, allowing Angelica to eclipse AUG in almost every way.
Angelica’s Skill, Extreme Shooting, comes in two parts.
With a favorably short 4 second initial cooldown, Angelica’s full DPS potential is achieved early on in battle, and she's not held back by the random targeting gimmick that afflicts AUG or SAR-21. This means Angelica can focus that potential DPS to get the most out of her impressive Rate of Fire.
Compared to other DPS ARs with insane multipliers like G11, AN-94, or M4A1 Mod, Angelica will fall somewhat behind, but she still performs extraordinarily well compared to the average 5-star AR. Angelica's burst potential remains excellent and early Skill activation keeps her competitive in DPS, especially when armor is not involved.
Angelica’s advantages extend to Special Equipment, which replaces an Exoskeleton and provides +5 Damage in addition to the usual Evasion, another small tweak that helps Angelica to stand out, not only from AUG but in the exceedingly crowded field of high end DPS ARs.
Upcoming events such as Shattered Connexion and Polarized Light have greater demands for RoF ARs, giving Angelica the potential to stand out. For newer Commanders, Angelica offers a powerful, easily obtained AR that can help round out their rosters going into the midgame.
Angelica is nevertheless stepping into a crowded field of DPS ARs, and even with her unique strengths, she may struggle to stand out from the pack for players with already well developed AR rosters. Since the GFL EN server is going to unlock her earlier relative to other servers, Angelica may actually see use in content she was previously unavailable in - only time will tell.
Angelica’s entire kit is based upon AUG, from stats to Skill, and even Tile Buffs. However, Angelica is given improvements in nearly every area that allow her to outperform her progenitor in almost every way.
Players can earn Angelica as a limited drop from the daily farming map from the Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino Collaboration event shop, using event currency that can be earned for free - there's no need to roll the production gacha for her.
Angelica’s performance is somewhat kneecapped by her Skill’s Active and Passive components being almost entirely separate, despite theoretically good synergy. While a minor issue, it does bear noting.
Angelica’s AR class is somewhat of a demerit, as her echelon spot is highly contested by the large variety of existing ARs, within which many extremely strong options now exist.
