Overview
EVO3 continues the unfortunate trend of the most lackluster upgrades getting the best damn art. EVO3 wins full marks on style, but not on substance. Being a Hand Grenade SMG is already fighting an uphill battle when it comes to Neural Upgrades and she doesn’t do enough to make herself stand out.
Fatal Dignity is her new Skill 2. After she throws her grenade from Skill 1, she throws another grenade, this time a poison gas one. Enemies affected by this suffer a 20% Damage penalty and take 30% of EVO3’s Damage per second. This damage is pitiful, for comparison an incendiary grenade does 3 ticks of damage per second, while the poison only does one. In essence, this is nothing more than a Damage penalty to those affected then, which isn’t a bad thing but there are also HGs which fulfil this niche while having stronger effects, better uptime, and also giving teamwide tile buffs.
Another big problem with Hand Grenade SMGs is they simply don’t do enough damage with said grenade. Her Skill 1 did get a radius boost but not a damage boost, not enough to make it standout. It does at least inflict 10% Vulnerability to boost teamwide damage against hit targets (though it won’t boost the damage of the grenade itself).
All in all, EVO3 MOD is one that most people won’t look once at, let alone twice. There’s little value in upgrading her, though if you are a fan of her and just have to use her, it’s not an outright terrible upgrade. MOD2 is her recommended stop point, though MOD3 comes with an alright Special Equipment (and also the aforementioned amazing art).
