Overview
JS05 is one of the worst 5 star units currently ingame due to her terrible Skill and uncompelling stats.
JS05’s stats, although not terrible, are still not enough to make her particularly good. Her 158 Damage gives her one of the highest Damage stats in the game, losing only to IWS and NTW-20. To compensate for this, however, she has one of the worst RoF stats out of RFs, severely limiting her utility outside of certain situations. Even then, the main problem with JS05 is actually her Skill. Out of the already inefficient Aimed Shot skills, JS05’s Skill is possibly the worst -- its damage multiplier isn’t high, and its additional effect rarely actually makes a difference in battle. All these factors together make JS05 is a mediocre unit, though her main deficiencies are mostly due to her Skill.
Pros
High Damage
Like many other RFs with an Aimed Shot-like skill, JS05 has a high damage stat, resting at 158.
Cons
Low RoF
JS05’s 30 RoF is low even for an RF.
Bad Skill
Even out of the Aimed Shot skills, which are already inefficient, JS05’s Skill is especially ineffective, featuring a very low damage multiplier along with a additional effect that rarely ends up mattering.
Full analysis
JS05 is an overall an uncompelling unit without many positive traits. Though she’s not among the worst her class has to offer, she’s hardly any better.
The first problem with JS05 is her stats. JS05’s statline, all around, isn’t too terrible; At 158, JS05 has one of the highest Damage stats ingame, and while it doesn’t matter as much, she also has one of the highest Accuracy stats. The main issue with JS05 is her RoF -- which rests at one of the lowest values for all RFs. As JS05’s class have inherently high Damage, allocating stat points to Damage over a certain point has diminishing returns, and therefore top-tier RFs tend to have higher RoF that boosts their overall damage output. JS05, with one of the lowest RoF stats out of RFs, will have a hard time dealing damage with her regular attacks and dealing with mobs of the average foe -- and while this isn’t a huge downside since her statline prioritizes boss-killing anyways, she has further issues that prevent her from even filling this role particularly well.
The main problem with JS05 isn’t actually her stats, but rather her skill. Despite her possessing an Aimed Shot, JS05’s Skill deals pathetically low damage due to only providing a 2x damage multiplier. This is perhaps because it was designed in order to be used against normal enemies instead of only bosses, with her shot dealing an additional 2x damage to any enemies it passes by. The issues with this are multiple: first of all, the Skill’s damage multiplier is low enough that Damage-buffing HGs need to be used with JS05 to compensate, meaning she must forgo an RoF buff. In addition, due to most enemies aiming for the same frontliner, they end up forming a semicircle-like pattern, which means JS05’s Skill will rarely hit many enemies. One positive aspect of JS05’s Skill is its short initial cooldown of 6 seconds -- but even then, after accounting for the 2 seconds it takes to aim, its initial cooldown effectively becomes 8 seconds, which isn’t much better than other Aimed Shot RFs. Not only does this Skill lose to even average self-buff skills, it also ends up losing to other Aimed Shot Skills thanks to its multiplier being too low to deal damage to high HP targets. In essence, JS05’s skill is only effective in incredibly specific situations, and is otherwise inferior to even lower rarity Skills.
Overall, these factors make JS05 an uncompelling choice of a 5 star RF. There’s other units that perform better in nearly all situations both generally and specifically.
