Begin charging after skill cooldown ends, gaining 1 charge stack every second, up to a maximum of 4 stacks. When skill is used, shoot the current target twice, dealing ($min_dam_value) ~ ($max_dam_value)x damage per shot based on the current number of charge stacks, taking 0.5 seconds to aim before each shot. All stacks will be consumed on skill use.
ICD: CD:
Chain Shot performs an additional accuracy check against each target. If the accuracy check passes, the shot will be a headshot, dealing ($damage_value)% additional damage. When Kar98k achieves a victory, gain +1 medal this battle, up to a maximum of 4 medals. Each medal permanently increases the initial number of charge stacks for Chain Shot by 1.
While Kar98k pre-mod is a non-standard Bamboo, she still suffers from Bamboo issues of not having enough damage to swiftly eliminate the ever-growing health of important targets.
Using pre-mod Kar98k is not recommended.
Lower initial cooldown, higher initial multipliers and the Damage being split into two shots makes Kar98k a non-standard Bamboo that doesn't suffer as badly from Bamboo issues.
Still suffers from Bamboo issues.
The classic Kar98k, the first doll everyone sees when going onto the store page to download the game, to even being on the initial loading screen alongside Lee. Finally, she is done true justice, and has an excellent Mod that aims to enhance her original capabilities massively.
Kar’s upgrade is all about taking her original Skill, Chain Shot, to the next level. The upgraded Skill1 now has the ability to crit and targets the enemy she last attacked, already quite nice. Her new Skill 2, Crown of Chains, places an additional accuracy check onto her Skill 1. This accuracy check is simply the exact same one she normally has for her shots to begin with, so the odds are always variable. If the check succeeds, Kar deals double damage. No bells and whistles, just a 100% additional damage which is on a typically high success rate. On top of this, she gets a medal with each victory up to 4 times, which permanently increases her initial number of Skill 1 stacks for the rest of the battle. While the bonus from medals have been fixed to always apply, Mica EN has un-fixed this just for you, it is still optimal to have her on Force Manual for the extra 1 stack from the base bamboo functionality. Before this fix, Medals were also delayed together with the base bamboo stack, meaning having her on auto would always result in a 0 stack nuke, while now it scales with her Medals.
Needless to say, Kar’s nuke damage potential simply skyrockets with this upgrade. Her raw damage per Chain Shot is immense and will make short work of even the hardiest foes. Imagine Grape (Carcano M91/38), except it can work on Elites. Since nuking is highly useful, Kar stands proud as an extremely desirable upgrade that everyone should aim to do. Taking her all the way to Mod III is recommended as her unique cape replacement has a whopping extra 23% Crit Damage over a normal cape, and even does away with the movement penalty.
With an optimal setup, Kar98k Mod can reach up to a 42x multiplier in total for both shots.
Should the enemy die from the first hit, Kar98k won't waste all the damage on overkill and will instead target a new target.
As Kar98k targets her current target (she needs to have attacked them once to lock on) using her skill effectively can be slightly finnicky.
Kar98k needs Mod III for optimal performance, making her a very expensive 6☆ Mod.
As Kar98k relies on Crit, DMG AND ACC she suffers more than others from Para Debuff.
Her Medals have been fixed and no longer require Force Manual, but the base bamboo stack still takes a moment to activate, so disabling auto-skill is still preferable.
