Overview
So imagine we have MG3’s infinite ammo box meme but didn’t make the doll absolutely terrible. That’s M1895 CB, potato digger. At first, in shorter fight lengths that are usually the domain of “first-volley” MGs, M1895 CB’s average base stats make her no better than other options. It is after other MGs have run out of ammo that she shines.
Her passive skill starts the fight with 30 stacks of reserve ammo, and once that dips below 30 she starts regenerating one every 3 seconds. When her active is not toggled, this reserve ammo does not count as regular ammo, and M1895 CB cannot fire it.
Her active skill will make it so, if M1895 CB runs out of regular ammo, she will begin to fire the reserve ammo stacks as if they were real ammo and an extension to her clip, and each of those will debuff her accuracy for up to 10 stacks and self-buff her damage by 20% for up to 1 stack.
What this boils down to is that she can fire 48 rounds for the first 16 seconds with a decent self-dmg buff that will take her far ahead of her competitors’ 2nd and even 3rd volleys. Her heavy accuracy debuff means she will fall off hard against anything with evasion, but against 0 evasion enemies that debuff does not matter. It is recommended to only activate her skill the first time to toggle on Reserve Ammo Shooting Mode, then not use the skill the second time it comes up, as that would deactivate the skill and have her instantly start reloading even though she has not used up all of her reserve ammunition.
If the fight drags on for longer than 16 seconds, M1895 CB runs into another issue. Her passive regenerates reserve ammo at an incredibly slow pace, and only when she is not reloading. Additionally her damage self-buff will fall off during reload times. This makes her much worse on proceeding volleys, but chances are that after her first one everything will be dead anyways.
While she is unremarkable in short battles, against medium to longer length enemy nodes with no evasion M1895 CB pulls far ahead of even higher rarity counterparts easily.
Pros
Very Very Very High First Clipsize
M1895 CB effectively has a 48 round first clip
Damage Self-Buff
M1895 CB’s reserve ammo will buff her by 20%
Armor Tiles
She has 12% armor tiles, which while are slightly below the common average, are sought for in MGs for armor stacking and useful for SGs in what is likely a drawn out, high damage fight
Cons
Skill Debuffs Accuracy
M1895 CB’s skill debuffs her accuracy for up to 10 stacks, which with her base accuracy puts her at 5 accuracy. Her hit rate against anything with evasion will fall hard.
Slow Passive
While she starts with 30 reserve ammo, once spent it is very slow to come back. M1895 CB’s passive only regenerates reserve ammo while she is not reloading and not capped, at a snail’s pace of 1 every 3 seconds.
Slightly Long ICD
Her skill kicks in at 5 seconds, after she’s had time to fire her entire first clip, so M1895 CB does not stand out in shorter fights
