M500 is a free SG given for free pre-leveled from Career Quests. She can easily be used if you have any early needs for Armor tanking, and also has a strong Mod.
Her Skill has a very long ICD, low uptime and isn't very important.
As M500 is both free and pre-leveled, she solves early immediate needs for Armor tanking, such as for Corpse Dragging.
Low base Armor and an effectively useless Skill, M500 pre-Mod isn't useful beyond just simple early Armor tanking needs.
M500 Mod revolves entirely around her Mod 2 Skill, granting both M500 and other allies in her column 25 HP Shields every time a buff is applied to M500. While this can be applied through her own Skill 1, this is both far too infrequent and horribly late still having a way too long ICD of 10 seconds and very long cooldown.
Her Skill 2 causes any multiplicative DMG/RoF/EVA/ACC/Crit Rate/Armor buffs to grant M500 and whoever else is in her column to get 25 HP Shields. The ally in her column here is a requirement for this effect.
There are several Dolls with repeating buffs that can repeatedly trigger this with frequent enough intervals that M500 can help her entire column tank linksplash enemies, such as Doppels. This obviously requires the DPS for the echelon to be in M500's column and causes her to be a specialist role.
M500 Mod with the right setup can produce constant HP Shields to help protect her entire column against linksplash.
M500 doesn't have the same kind of massive HP Shields as actual Evasion tanks with massive HP Shields, such as Alchemist and Suomod.
If you don't give M500 the tools she needs to do her constant HP Shields, she is just a weak SG with low Armor.
Some examples of repeating triggers for M500's Skill 2 are as follows:
Additionally, CDR on HGs cause them to use their Skills more often. (This also causes SAA's Skill 2 to trigger more frequently.)
