ICD: CD:
Prioritize the enemy with the highest base damage. Can continue firing after running out of ammo, and only reloads when self DPS is the highest among all allies. Every attack increases self critical hit rate by ($cr_value)% for 4 seconds, stacking up to 12 layers.
MG338 is another addition to the extended volley MG camp. And also the heterochromia gang. She’s a bit odd, but carries a lot of strong fundamentals to be an extremely valuable addition to MG teams.
Her base stats are great. High firepower, gives armor tiles, great tile layout. Her low clipsize is the only real problem, and it is entirely fixed by her skill.
MG338’s skill lets her shoot regardless of how much ammo she has if she is not the top damage dealer on the team according to the damage% summary on the right side. So pair her with other strong MGs or other sources of extreme burst DPS like Carcano M91/38.
Her aiming is also deterministic, since she prioritizes enemies with the highest firepower instead of spraying whatever like other MGs, letting her take out really dangerous units that others won’t shoot consistently. Her attacks stack additive crit rate additively up to a bonus 36% to dish out some extra dps. All these things considered, MG338 is definitely worth raising.
104 Firepower is high, even for an MG. It beats out M2HB’s by 2.
Pairing with high DPS/other extended volley MGs will mean MG338 never runs out of ammo.
While standard and expected at this point, 15% armor tile buffs are still good. MG338 also has great tile coverage, able to buff the position 6 SG from 4 separate spots.
MG338 is less RNG than most MGs, prioritizing enemies with the highest Firepower first.
MG338, by her very nature, cannot be the strongest damage dealer on the team. She can only do as much as the best unit. Thus she is reliant on some other MG to deal more damage than her.
9 rounds per clip is low for an MG. But MG338’s skill kind of makes that meaningless since she keeps firing anyways.
