ROIGHT I LUV A GOOD BIT OF FOOTIE BLOODY GREAT TIME INNIT.
...Err, anyway, Minos is one of the new extra dolls you can get your hands on in the Jashin collab. She’s an SG with impressive stats but sadly not the most useful of skills to back it up. While she’s not terrible, most commanders won’t find a worthwhile reason to raise her.
Her skill is a mix of both offensive and defensive utility. Her stun and AoE damage capability is pretty impressive, and on a short cooldown too. Unfortunately, as we know, offensive utility is not looked for much on SGs. On top of this, the defensive utility comes from a shield she only gains after reloading, hindering its usefulness and how much it benefits her survivability.
On a more positive side, her stats on paper are great. She has immensely high HP and FP for a SG, as well as a good Armour stat. If she’s being used with MGs, her tiles are also really strong and suitable for her class.
This cute football-playing Minotaur has a lot of bark, but not enough of a bite. Newer commanders that actually get her may find some use out of her, because a free Shotgun is still a free Shotgun. However, newbies can also get M500 and SPAS-12 for free, so it’s not that big of a benefit. Minos is at least better than SPAS-12 I suppose. Veterans and longer standing players can safely ignore her though.
Minos packs a whopping 286 HP per dummy link (1430 at x5) and 39 damage, which is among the highest out of all Shotguns. She also comes with 22 Armour, which isn’t amazing but is still good nevertheless.
From Position 6, Minos will buff the entire back row of MGs. She buffs for a respectable 15% FP and Accuracy.
She’s so cute aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Her Skill, Demonic Punch, has two main effects: an offensive one and a defensive one.
Offensively, she rushes forward and stuns her foes while dealing a large chunk of damage. This damage is no slouch, with a base 8x modifier and additional damage based on the foe’s HP. Having a 5 second stun on a 6 second ICD also has some survivability value, but the fact this plays by normal stun logic and therefore won’t affect bosses or elite enemies does hinder it considerably.
The defensive portion is more an afterthought though. After every reload, she will get a shield equal to 5% of her HP (71 HP) and this cannot stack. Given her immense HP, this is a really big shield, but the need for her to reload means it can’t be used early. Shotguns benefit a lot from getting their shields early after all, while with Minos this is an impossibility.
Sadly in this current age of Girls Frontline, Minos simply won’t have much value to anyone. New commanders can already acquire M500 and SPAS-12 for free. M500 is extremely strong after undergoing Neural Upgrade while SPAS-12 is serviceable until the commander gets a True Core Mask. Minos is stronger than SPAS, but much more core costly for not too much of an upgrade.
Veteran commanders will likely already have LTLX-8000, S.A.T.8, or any other perfectly viable shotguns, which means Minos will have no place for these commanders.
