Sei is a limited drop from the VA-11 Hall-A event, and was the first shielding HG available on EN. She boasts strong Firepower/Evasion tiles and the ability to shield SG/SMG/HGs. She has a useful niche, as one of the few good defensive HGs, but she has mostly been overshadowed by newer options such as P22 and HS2000. P22 has the ability to buff FP and Evasion, and HS2000 can shield the entire team while also providing a FP buff. However, if you lack those options, Sei still has her uses as a powerful defensive tool to reduce scratch damage.
Sei has the same tile shape and tile buffs as Grizzly, providing good support for DPS dolls and some evasion for a tank in position 5.
Sei’s skill shields SGs, SMGs, and HGs for between 26 and 58 HP, depending on the HP of the shielded doll. Her shield can provide a sizable boost to the survivability of the frontline, especially against attacks that splash to links like Doppel basic attacks and Uhlan rockets. Her shield also synergizes well with shotguns, who can increase the effective HP of her shield with their armor.
Sei’s skill gives no offensive buffs, so teams with Sei will fall behind in DPS compared to teams with buffing HGs such as Grizzly.
Sei’s skill does not shield ARs, RFs, or MGs, which means she cannot protect the entire team from Doppel bombardments or other AoE attacks.
