TAR-21 is a four star craftable Israeli Assault Rifle and a member of “Squad Negev”. She features strong base stats that are carried by her amazing RoF, and her Skill has great modifiers that complement her stats even further. As effective as TAR’s Skill is in theory, however, in practice it is haunted by its lengthy Initial Cooldown and short Duration that hurt her overall damage output when compared to ‘fast burners’ such as G41 and Type95. Overall, even if TAR-21 is not the perfect package, she’s remains a very strong unit that is capable of amazing damage output if properly buffed.
TAR features strong base stats that complement her Skill and help her take advantage of all forms of buffs.
TAR’s Charge Focus provides her with a massive DPS increase for 5 seconds. Because of this Skill and her strong stat values, TAR scales pretty well with buffs.
TAR’s Skill would be awesome if it weren’t gated by its terrible Initial Cooldown and duration values that make for mediocre uptime.
TAR-21’s stats are pretty good -- featuring 49 Damage and 79 RoF, she can make great use of her Skill’s RoF buff. If TAR receives as little as an additional 18% RoF buff from tiles or a teammate’s Skill, she will reach the frame-imposed 116 RoF cap, allowing the player to focus solely on buffing her Damage stat or even forego RoF buffs altogether due to her Skill.
Charge Focus is a very potent Skill when it is active, giving TAR a roughly 106% DPS increase. It is, however, negatively impacted by its very poor Cooldown and Duration values. Because of these factors, TAR’s ability to dish out damage early into battle is rather poor when compared to ARs with shorter Cooldowns such as Type95 and G41. Additionally, when measured up to G11 -- whose Skill Cooldown values are nearly equal to TAR’s -- G11’s Skill modifier is twice as strong as hers.
One of the most mediocre aspects to TAR is her buff tiles, which increases two SMG’s Evasion by 18%. The effect isn’t particularly weak, however due to their layout TAR will only end up buffing one SMG, or none if an HG is employed as a main tank.
Overall and despite of these limitations, TAR is one of the most powerful four star ARs who possesses a Skill that allows her to shine in boss battles. Her general clearing potential suffers from her long Initial Skill Cooldown so she does not fill any role that better five star ARs can’t fill, though. Because of this, she will find herself outclassed by them most of the time.
